 Ethical and professional practice

Dr Emma Arora follows ethical principles and professional guidelines from the Health Care and Professions Council (HCPC). As part of her ethical codes of practise she engages in regular and ongoing supervision where your case may be discussed but no identifying details would be given and your confidentiality protected.

 

Consent and confidentiality 

All assessment and therapy sessions are private and confidential unless there is a significant concern about your safety or someone else’s.  In such cases sharing information with other professionals involved may be necessary (e.g. GP, mental health team).  This would usually be discussed with you first.

 

Data protection

See privacy policy for further details.  Dr Arora complies with the Data Protection Act (1998) which required organisations processing personal information to register with the Information Commissioners office (ICO).

 

Payment

Payment by bank transfer is required 48 hours in advance of each session.

 

Re-arranging and cancellation policy

48 hours notice is required for cancellation of appointments.  Appointments cancelled in advance of 48 hours will not be changed.  If you cancel at late notice, or do not attend the appointment the sessions will be charged at the full rate. 

You can cancel ongoing sessions at any time without charge.  It is recommended that you give 2 weeks notice to allow sufficient time for ending.

 

In an emergency or crisis

The service offered by Dr Arora is not suitable for use in a crisis or emergency situation.  In such instances please contact your GP, 111 or attend A&E.
